These work are about how we use language, who has voice and how it can be deployed. These pieces recontextualize contemporary concerns by examining the language we use to frame discussions of place, day-to-day events or historic ideas. In this project, language itself becomes a site of enquiry, an exploration of how we describe mutual concerns, as the artworks reflect and create metaphors.

Rust Belt Stanzas are made in response to struggling former industrial, rust belt cities. They incorporate words referencing mutuality and common purpose, but the text is written in rust on corroded steel plates.
