American Camoflage
American Camoflage
Acrylic, canvas, handpainted frame
26x32
2025

The painting American Camouflage is part of a series of works that use all of the verbs from a single day’s headlines from the NYT and Washington Post, in faded, not-quite-right patriotic colors. This work examines how language is used/manipulated/directed, and deployed in ways that masks consequences, sanitizes horror, and camouflages motivations.
