Emily Dickinson wrote a poem congratulating him on his first sculpture. Isadora Duncan consulted with him on costume draping and did an impromptu performance on his lawn. May Alcott gave him his first sculpture lesson. Henry James, Daniel Burnham, and Frederic Law Olmstead visited. Edith Wharton was a neighbor. Here, small cards are coded by design (architecture, literature, artists, dancers), with the name of the luminary on the front and a brief description of their importance or accomplishments on the back. The installation is in the hall where visitors to Chesterwood are invited to take a card with them.
