The text is from a letter from Charles Darwin. Embroidered over the piano (symbol of culture) it reads: "we will now discuss in a little more detail the struggle for existence.."
The veil running like a river over the stones is embroidered with: "clumsy, wasteful, blundering, low and horribly cruel works of nature..."
The entire work is housed inside a microscope case.
