This work obviously draws on traditions of seascape painting, and the recording of different colors/conditions on the same place has echoes of Monet's Haystacks. But there are crucial differences:

To begin with, these are done in almost real time, and form an index or an archive, a record of specific moments over a specific period.
These works are participatory: the colors are not my choice alone but are suggested by people who participated in the project and are intimately connected to the place.
