French's house at Chesterwood was an unpretentious family home. The parlor and the dining room were full of family furniture and images. To create an intervention in these crowded but evocative spaces I combed through pages of his distinctive handwriting and cobbled together a font, which I used to create vinyl laser cut images of quotes from his letters for the windows and doors
