*SubCity Projects*/ The Fine Arts Building :Lorado Taft's Dream Museum: an Excavating History Project
The drawing at the rear of the diorama was based on architectural plans Taft had drawn up for the never-built Dream Museum. (It featured a Court of Michelangelo and an Avenue of Egypt).
Pictured are models of a Striding Figure (Egypt), and the Discobolus (Greek)
The Fine Arts Building in Chicago has been home to many prominent artists, writers and musicians. The plaque is outside the front door of Taft's studio. (The diorama is accessed around the corner, at the side door).
